Preeyam Budhia speaking at the Horasis India Meeting 2021

During the ‘Modernizing Indian Philanthropy, Originally Rooted in Tradition’ panel discussion at the Horasis India Meeting 2021, Preeyam Budhia (President-Business Development, Patton Group) shared her views on philanthropy, CSR, and social entrepreneurship.

She said, “Philanthropy in any form is a vehicle of social change. And the WHY behind philanthropy is key, coupled with long-lasting impact. It’s time to look beyond sympathy, beyond empathy, and build a culture of compassion. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) augments, amplifies, and complements philanthropy and it is both a modern & appropriate mechanism of ‘corporate giving’. My path to empowering rural women & children via sustainability projects has been paved with CSR based on the Social Entrepreneurship Model.”

Her illustrious fellow panellists during the session included Sundar Mahalingam (Chief Strategy Officer, HCL Corporation, India), Dnyaneshwar Mulay (Member, National Human Rights Commission, India), Sushil Premchand (Managing Director, PRS Services, Switzerland). The panel was chaired by Pramit Pal Chaudhuri (Foreign Editor, Hindustan Times, India).
